Happy Tails is raising funds to build a state of the art no kill animal shelter. Until we are able to build our shelter, we are utilizing our web page to help find homes for animals who are lost, abandoned, or unwanted. We are also working on setting up a network of individuals who are willing to foster any abused, unwanted, or stray animals that we are contacted about. We will try to help find homes.
If you are willing to become part of our foster network, PLEASE contact us as soon as possible!!! There are many animals in need!!
Please Adopt!!! Adoption is one of the best things you can do for yourself and for an animal in need. If we don't have any animals available, please check out other local shelters!! There are many animals that are unwanted or abandoned, PLEASE consider adoption!

SEPTEMBER 12th - Annual Happy Tails Golf Tournament
Tomasso's Country Club in Waverly, NY. Registration is from 12-1 PM, and dinner will follow play.
SEPTEMBER 27th and 28th - Annual Book Sale
Set the date aside for the Annual Happy Tails Book sale, at 249 Front Street, Owego, NY. We have received thousands of beautiful books, in all subjects, but WE CAN ALWAYS USE MORE BOOKS!!! We are also going to sell movies (VHS, DVD), magazines, music (LPs, tapes, CDs, etc.) Please call Ken Willet at 607-341-7564 to arrange for book pickup and storage. Please... no textbooks and only books in "good condition".
OCTOBER 16th - Annual Silent Auction
The Happy Tails Annual Silent Auction will be held on Thursday October 16th at the South Waverly, PA Borough Hall from 6-8pm. Look for details in the near future....

Happy Tails News...
We have been meeting with builders and refining our preliminary plans for the shelter. In the near future we will have a fairly "concrete" plan that we can share with the public. This has been a very exciting time for us.

Help Build Our Shelter
Happy Tails is raising funds to build a no kill animal shelter on our 6 acre property in North Towanda.
The shelter will reflect our philosophy of respect and dignity for all animals as well as providing a warm, caring environment for them. The building will be designed to be friendly to people, animals, and the environment. Who We Are
In the Spring of 2003, a dedicated group of animal lovers met to discuss the possibility of building and running a no-kill animal shelter in Bradford County, Pennsylvania. We have an eight member board of directors which includes an elected president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer. We are incorporated as 501(c)3 non-profit organization and currently have thirty active volunteers.
Our Mission
Our mission is to educate the general public and pet owners by teaching humane principles and responsible pet ownership to promote harmonious relationships and prevent cruelty to animals and animal suffering. With our no kill philosophy we will provide a safe haven for abused, unwanted, abandoned, and stray pets in the geographical region that offers these animals many options for a new life.
Our Goals
- Build an animal shelter that will provide a clean comfortable, safe, and healthy environment for each animal.
- Provide educational programs to the public that can teach humane principles to prevent cruelty to animals and promote harmonious relationships between companion animals and their humans.
- Strive to return stray animals to their homes and aggressively seek suitable homes for abandoned animals through adoption, fostering, and collaboration with service organizations.
- Build a strong spay/neuter program within the community and offer help to those in need of emergency medical care.
- Fund the organization by soliciting memberships, grants, and donations to support our programs and the operation of the shelter.
- Encourage community support for the shelter.
"Moose's Fund"
Moose's Fund is a special reserve Medical Fund earmarked to cover costs typically incurred in an emergency or medical situation where there is an animal in need and the guardian is unable to purchase the services in need. The funds can be used to cover such costs as: Emergency vet calls, X-rays, Surgery, Medications, Rehabilitation expenses, and other necessary medical treatments. Moose's Fund recently helped a puppy in need named "Moo Moo". Moo Moo was diagnosed with parvovirus and required intravenous fluids to survive. He is alive and well today!! Best Wishes "Moo Moo"!
Come Visit the Site!
In November 2003, we purchased a 6 acre plot of land on Rt. 6 ~3.2 miles west of Rt. 220 (between Towanda and Troy, PA). We are currently evaluating architectural plans and visiting other shelters to create a unique and practical shelter design.
Stop by the property to see our new "Future Home Of Happy Tails" sign!!! This was purchased with a generous donation from the late Paula Bainbridge of Athens, PA.
